Halal Issues in Malaysia - Introduction

It is with great honour to compile this Research Book Series 2022 on halal issues in Malaysia. I would like to thank the Research and Development of Universiti Malaysia Pahang and Penerbit UMP for their effort in initiating the idea to publish this book. I would also like to express my deepest gratitude to the researchers in their respective areas as they share their research findings about halal issues in the country - Malaysia. Thank you for the fruitful information and insights on halal matters that the researchers have shared in the research book. I hope that writing issues concerning halal will continue, to ensure Muslim consumers, in particular, are aware of halal products and understand that products need to meet the requirements laid by shariah law to ensure their hygiene, quality and safety before consuming them. For non-Muslims, the information in this book may promote healthy eating and understand safe to consume products among them. Let us be halal  literate!
