CONSTRUCTION INVENTORY & WORKING CAPITAL: AN EMPIRICAL ANALYSIS

This research is an endeavour to understand the inventory problems faced by construction companies in Pahang. The intention was to examine the level of inventory maintained by construction companies and its effect on their working capital. It was planned to analyse this information and suggest a suitable inventory model to manage the construction inventory more systematically. Purposive sampling techniques was adopted to collect primary data on inventory and working capital from few G7 contractors in Pahang.

mostly gets full cooperation from project manager, site
supervisor, site engineer and employees which the task needs
to connect with the person in charge in the inventory
management people. The data of this study was analysed
using Microsoft Excel. Briefly, this study shows the ABC
analysis is able to meet up all the three objectives in this study.
From the key words, there are a few inventory variable,
working capital variable and performance of company
variable. The recommendation for future researcher, after this
study the future researcher may conduct the research scope
in urban states like Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Negeri
Sembilan which can get more sample sizes due to the
development of business projects arises and focus in there.
